Geoff recommended Notability as a better alternative to Penultimate, which I was a dissapointment to me. So today I tried Notability.

I am very impressed. This app truely is a great note taking app. The following pdf is a physics lesson plan that I sketched up in a matter of minutes:

Notability & iAnnotate are my new killer apps!

  1. I love Notability. I've used a number of note taking apps and this is my current favorite. You can probably import files into it and use it much the way you use iAnnotate as well.

Other apps I find useful are:
Ubersense-easily record and slow down action

IOPScience-download and read journal articles. Look for Physics Education

AirSketch-Real time projection to any computer. Use as a whiteboard or draw all over a picture or PDF

    1. Steve,
Thanks for the suggestions. I downloaded AirSketch (free) and was able to do the real time projection on my computer screen at home. I do have a SmartBoard, so I'll need to scratch my head to find a way to make this useful in the classroom.

IOPScience is a real find. I found some papers in the Physics Education section that I downloaded. Twenty papers per month is a generous deal (especially for free).

I'll try Ubersense when I make some motion videos.

      Thanks again.

    2. PS. The cost of the article I downloaded for free was $33.00 when downloaded from the publisher's website.

  2. I teach high school Math/Engineering/Mechatronics and use an iPad/iMac/MacBook/PC/iPhone extensively in my courses. My primary software is Notability(which allows me to push the notes to my students smartphones), keynote, and various calculators and graphing apps. WHAT really pulls it all together is the addition of Apple TV. using this combination of hardware and software I am free to roam about the room and hand off the device to students so they can do examples. my engineering class uses iMacs and are able to display what's on their computer screen on the skateboard to share projects with the class.
